?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = 'urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags' />COLLEGE PARK, MD. – The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø women’s track and field team competed at the Terrapin Invitational hosted by the University of Maryland on Saturday. Several Raiders had outstanding individual performances in the meet.
Shannon O’Hagan (Sarnia, Ont.) took first in the high jump with a school record leap of 1.70 meters. Her mark also qualified her for competition in the ECAC Championship to be held later this season.
Freshman Danielle Whicher (North Reading, Mass.) took top honors in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:23.03. She qualified for the ECAC meet earlier this season, but posted an even better time at the Terrapin Invitational.
Freshman Nichole Christoforo (Rockland, Mass.) took third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.8, while sophomore Emily Thomson (Billerica, Mass.) found herself in an eight-way tie for fourth place in the high jump with a mark of 1.55 meters.
Sophomore Lisa Germain (Queensbury, Mass.) closed out the scoring for the Raiders recording a point for the Raiders with an eighth place finish in the 100 meters with a personal best time of 12.75 seconds.
The Raiders will be back in action on April 17 as they head to Bucknell for a five-way meet.
