Three Women’s Track and Field Athletes Receive All-Patriot League Honors

CENTER VALLEY, PA. – The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø women’s track and field team landed three on the all-Patriot League squad for the 2004 outdoor season.  Freshman Danielle Whicher (N. Reading, Mass.) and sophomore Shannon O’Hagan (Sarnia, Ont.) were named first team all-league, while freshman Nicole Christoforo (Rockland, Mass.) received second team honors.

Whicher, an outstanding distance runner, took first place in the 10,000 meters at the Patriot League Championship.  She broke both the school and the Patriot League Championship record in the event with a time of 36:34.39.

O’Hagan made ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø history when she became the school’s first female track athlete to qualify for the NCAA Regionals.  She took gold in the high jump at the Patriot League Championship with a leap of 1.65 meters.

Christoforo came on strong in the outdoor season taking second place in the 800 meters at the championship.  Her time of 2:14.92 is the third best mark in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø history.

The Raiders are off and running again on the weekend of May 14-16 as they head to Princeton, N.J. to compete in the ECAC Championships.
