Men’s Track and Field Takes Part in Crusader Invitational at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, MASS. – The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø men’s track and field team competed in the Crusader Invitational at Holy Cross this weekend. Senior Louis DiNuzzo (Loudonville, N.Y.) took first in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:08.49, while teammate John Irvin (Dallas, Texas) brought home gold in the high jump with a leap of 1.93 meters.

 

Sophomore Dan Ellis (Pine Valley, N.Y.) came in fifth in both the 100 meters and 200 meters with times of 11.25 and 22.86 seconds respectively. Junior Rob VanDine finished second in the 400 meters in 50.65 seconds.

Kyle Barrett (Troy, N.Y.) took fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.83. Teammate John Gillespie (N. Andover, Mass.) was close behind in fifth with a mark of 1:56.81.

 

Senior Ian Hill (West Hartford, Conn.) led the way for the Raiders in the 1,500 meters with a second place finish in 3:53.54. DiNuzzo was fourth in 3:57.44 and freshman Mike Hanlon (Ann Arbor, Mich.) rounded out the field in fifth with a time of 4:03.13.

 

Jake Krong (Amsterdam, N.Y.) took fourth in the 5,000 meters in 15:30.28. Alex Fuller-Young finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles in 57.50 seconds, and Scott DeRoo (Elizabethtown, Pa.) was fourth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 10:22.73.

 

Alden Ellis (Singapore) tied for fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.93 meters and took fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.28 meters. Lucas Meeker (Healsburg, Calif.) took second in the shot put throwing 13.54 meters, while Andrew Bloom (Westport, Conn.) finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 55.54 meters.

 

The men’s team is back in action next weekend at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa.
