Hamilton, NY — Ashley Christian pitched a complete game shutout in the nightcap to lead Army to a doubleheader sweep over ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Saturday at the Eaton Street Field. The Cadets won the first game, 9-7, before taking the second game, 3-0.

Army (14-16 overall, 7-3 Patriot League) has won seven straight games as the Cadets moved into a second place tie with ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø (25-9, PL 7-3) in the Patriot League standings. The Raiders had a six-game winning streak stopped.
Christian allowed six hits, while striking out two and walking one for her fourth win of the season. Army did all the damage in the third inning off ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø starter Kelsey Nordstrom (6-2) (Salina, KS.). Lindsay March led off the inning with a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Lisa Huntington followed with a single to left, leaving runners on third and second after the throw back to the infield. Designated player Veronica Lauzon drilled a three-run homer over the centerfield fence.
Danielle Soule (Glendale, CA) and Nichole Rawson (Palmdale, CA) had two hits apiece for the Raiders.
In the opener, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø jumped out to a 4-1 lead after three innings. The Raiders scored twice in the first inning on Dorothy Donaldson’s (Lakeland, FL) RBI single and Natalie Rawson’s (Palmdale, CA) RBI ground out.
ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø added a single run in the second inning on Bri Tsukamoto’s fielder’s choice that plated Kim Olmstead (Spring Hill, FL), who opened the frame with a single. After Army scored its first run in the top of the third, Donaldson blasted her eighth home run of the season for a 4-1 lead.
Army tied the game in fourth inning on Lauren Gobar’s three-run homer, but ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø retook the lead in the bottom of the inning on Rachel Smith’s (Annandale, VA) RBI single. The Raiders went ahead 6-4 in the fifth inning when Donaldson drove in Nichole Rawson, who had doubled. Donaldson finished 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Army won the game with five runs in the sixth inning on Lindsay Gerheim’s three-run homer and Lindsay March’s two-run single. ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø added one final run in the sixth on an intentional walk to Donaldson with the bases loaded.
Elena Isaac (Chandler, AZ) started for the Raiders. She allowed seven hits and eight runs, while striking out three and walking three.
