I do research in Applied Mathematics broadly, encompassing a range of numerical and analytical techniques. Most of my research focuses on the prominent role fluid dynamics plays in applications ranging from geophysics to biology. Some recent topics of research include: How erosion and dissolution by flowing fluids creates morphology; The statistics of oceanic water waves, in particular the appearance of anomalously large waves known as rogue waves; How limb flexibility boosts the performance of flying and swimming animals.
