Events and Workshops

Throughout the year ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø hosts numerous events to support, and raise awareness around sexual, and intimate partner violence.

The Network and Haven hosts an annual Take Back The Night march on campus to raise awareness, support survivors, and actively challenge the culture of sexual violence and harassment within our campus community. This is a form of solidarity, empowerment, and advocacy as we come together for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

A six-week positive sexuality seminar led by student facilitators for students. Yes Means Yes gives students the unique opportunity to gather with people from across campus to engage in honest discussion on topics of positive sexuality in an attempt to destigmatize and encourage conversation about sex, pleasure, a healthy sexual climate on campus, combating sexual violence, the way different identities interact with sex and sexuality, and more.

Learn how to provide trauma-informed support for individuals impacted by sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, and additional forms of trauma. This interactive workshop discusses the neurobiology of trauma, common responses by survivors, discusses how violence can have lasting impact for individuals and communities and identifies actionable ways to help ensure a supportive response and consideration through a trauma-informed approach.

The Network and Haven hosts an annual 3K walk/run on campus, every October, to raise awareness about Domestic Violence. Campus and community members join together to stand in solidarity with survivors of intimate partner violence and raise funds for our community partner The Help Restore Hope Center.

During Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness Months, The Network, and Haven provides a healing space designed for survivors of interpersonal violence to come together in a supportive, compassionate environment. This gathering offers an opportunity to connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering community and understanding.

Required Training and Education

At every level, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø works to ensure that our students and employees can identify sexual harassment and violence, understand reporting and response obligations, and how to safely intervene.

  • All incoming students participate in education training courses that promote the importance of creating a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment. Courses are focused on bystander intervention, sexual assault prevention, and navigating alcohol consumption. Throughout their ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø experience students are offered opportunities to expand their knowledge through additional workshops, trainings, and events.
  • All employees are required to complete an annual sexual harassment training course.
